Review your school's gender policies

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) finally recognizes the need to review the evidence for “gender-affirming care.” All eyes will be on them to perform an honest and transparent review.

Second Thoughts on ‘Gender-Affirming Care’

By Leor Sapir, WSJ Opinion

“Given the finding of every existing systematic review to date that the evidence for “gender-affirming care” is exceptionally weak, the AAP should immediately recommend extreme caution in the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries in treating youth gender dysphoria. This is a no-brainer; health authorities in the U.K., Norway, Sweden, Finland and France have done it. “There is not enough evidence to support the safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness to make the treatment routinely available at this time,” said the statement from England’s National Health Service.”

Teach resilience and promote healthy habits for success

Schools are so captured by their narrow and politically charged view of the cult of inclusion and belonging they can’t imagine they might be wrong.

“Inclusion” excludes anyone who doesn’t tow the party line. Inclusion means restricting speech and justification for purges, making people feel “welcomed” by banning anything they find offensive.

“Belonging” means taking extra steps to ensure certain groups feel “special.” It means that everyone feels like they are the best fit by changing the culture, policy, and environment to suit those who demand a belonging space.

Practical Steps

  • Review your school's DEI statement for gender-related policies.

  • The very least schools can do is stop incentivizing children to question their gender.

  • We urge schools to lay off the use of pronouns this year.

  • That means don’t ask/compel students to state pronouns in class.

  • For boarding schools specifically, please stop requiring students to write their pronouns on their dorm room doors.
