Welcome To Parents Unite!

We are thrilled that you have expressed interest in our community and are excited to let you know that, since our launch 3 weeks ago, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible response from you and the countless others who have joined to support these critical initiatives. It is clear that our mission and approach have resonated with many voices that had previously been silent.

We are partnering with national organizations and are most appreciative of the support we have received, including generous financial pledges. We are confident that the commitments of time and resources that so many have offered will ensure our success. We are so grateful and look forward to all that we can accomplish together!

Communications Update

As part of our commitment to advocate on behalf of parents, students, and educators, we opened communication with local accrediting agencies (AISNE and NEASC) at the beginning of May. Our first letter introduced our organization, highlighted our growing concerns about the direction of education, and called on accreditors to take steps to prioritize diversity of thought in independent schools.

On May 14th, we received a joint response that failed to acknowledge our key requests or indicate a genuine desire to engage with the concerns we raised. Naturally, we sent a follow-up letter highlighting the rapid growth of the Parents United community and expressing our desire to engage in solution-oriented discussions.

Most recently, AISNE and NEASC replied with a remarkably similar response, which indicates they are refusing to engage in good faith with us. They maintain that their accreditation standards satisfy a commitment to viewpoint diversity and critical thought; however, we have seen countless examples of these standards falling short at their member schools and in AISNE's professional development offerings. We ask that they become actively informed and take real steps to commit in this area.
